Greetings!
We support our students’ dreams and aspirations!
Principal Yoshiaki Yokoshima
(School Psychologist/ Guidance Counsellor)
Thank you for visiting the website of Tsukuba International University High School.
I am the principal of this school, which is one of the leading traditional schools in the southern part of the prefecture, celebrating the 75th anniversary of its founding. At our school, we firmly believe in our mottos, “Fueki Ryuukou”(Fluid and transitory whilst also being eternal and immutable) and, Aruku (Bright), Tanoshiku (Fun) and Genkiyoku (Energetic).
The new year has begun, and even though the process of the vaccination of the new coronavirus has begun, it is still difficult to normalize the school activities. Nevertheless, at our school, all faculty members and students are working together to prevent the infection from spreading. I request everyone to work together to overcome this difficult situation.
The “founding spirit” of our school is “Shiraume Hanami Ryozen”. Our school has prospered under the guidance of this philosophy for 70 years. It teaches our students to be like the white plum which withstands the agony of fierce winter breeze and snow, but on the onset of spring, it is first to bloom. Similarly, the students should also become a useful resource to society.
We have entered into the third year of “Reiwa”, which means “people are beautifully united” and each of them is like a plum that blooms splendidly after the severe winter cold. The essence of “Reiwa” harmonizes with the founding spirit of our school. I wish for my students to become people who contribute to society, express gratitude, and make their flowers bloom splendidly.
This year, our school will make a full-scale transition from last year’s enrollment to the “advance school”, where each student can make further progress toward the future. The school has been reborn with an emphasis on career education with the aim of realizing students’ dreams. For example, introduction of a 2-course, 5-area system (2nd and 3rd grades), compulsory subject “Career Design” classes (all grades), internships (all 1st graders), promotion of admission to annexed universities and junior colleges, 25-minute classes of Implementation of “Basic (English and Mathematics)” (each grade), development of classes according to proficiency level of “Mathematics I” (1st grade), implementation of “Freshers’ Camp” (new student accommodation training) (1st grade), allocation of native teachers, and other initiatives like placements and international school exchanges with high schools in Taiwan (second grade).
Our school will strive to create an “advanced school” by focusing on the growth of students while preserving the traditions that have been guiding us so far. We will strive to uphold the name of the school as a high school that responds to the new era, meet the expectations of the community, and work to create a school that is trusted and loved by the community.
To all aspiring high school students at Tsukuba International University,
Why don’t you spend your precious 3 years of high school life together at our school? At our school, we will do our best to support your “dreams and aspirations”. I await you!

Thank you for visiting the website of Tsukuba International University High School.
It’s been two years since I became the principal of this school, which is one of the leading traditional schools in the southern part of the prefecture, celebrating the 74th anniversary of its founding. At our school, we firmly believe in our mottos, “Fueki Ryuukou”(Fluid and transitory whilst also being eternal and immutable) and, Aruku (Bright), Tanoshiku (Fun) and Genkiyoku (Energetic).
The new year might have begun but the spread of New Coronavirus infection has left Japan in a turmoil. In this situation, I feel sorry for not being able to stabilize the school educational activities. However, in these trying times, our students and faculty are working together to keep the infection at bay. I request everyone to lend a supportive hand to us in our endeavours against the coronavirus.

From this year, our school transform into an “advance school”, a school where each students can further advance towards the future. It will be reborn as a school that emphasizes on career education, to promote students’ dreams. For example, introduction of a 2-course, 5-area system, compulsory subject “Career Design” (all grades), internship (all first-year students), promotion of admission to annexed universities and implement a variety of initiatives such as developing classes by proficiency level (Mathematics I), conducting “Freshers’ Camp” (new student accommodation training), allocating native teachers, and interacting with high schools in Taiwan.
